Description
This may not be the greatest photo of a lunar eclipse ever captured, but it's surely one of the most meaningful.
It's been storming here for five days, leading up to Winter Soltice. As the lunar eclipse nears full effect, the clouds are a problem and moving through the frame of my lens. I'm standing in the driveway with my daughter beside me, straining to focus my camera on our tiny moon above. The gap widens in the heavens. I turn to her, realizing that it is a gift that Earth's satellite is now in clear view.
I dedicate this image to my Dad, who passed away on this day, exactly one year ago. I miss you.
And thanks for helping me tonight.
